Frequently asked questions
Answers to questions about buying, installing and using the system.
Purchase and prices
How much does vehicle tracking cost?
You pay for a kit with a tracker (from PLN 49 net) and a subscription. We set the subscription individually – it depends mainly on the number of vehicles.
What does the subscription cover?
Access to all system functions, data transmission, unlimited SMS notifications, routes from 90 days and other data from 36 months, new features at no extra charge and technical support.
Do I sign a contract?
With monthly payment we sign a contract for 12, 24 or 36 months. If you pay for a year in advance, no contract is needed.
How do I choose a kit?
First decide what you want to control besides position and routes: fuel, tachograph, cargo temperature or cameras. For tracking alone the Start line is enough. The quickest way to choose a kit is the quote builder.
I want to control the fuel level – which kit should I choose?
The Fuel line. We read the fuel level from the vehicle computer (CAN bus) or from a fuel probe fitted in the tank – the probe is the right choice where CAN does not provide the fuel level.
Does my car have a CAN bus?
Most cars produced after 2008 have a CAN bus. Give us the make, model and year in the quote builder or by e-mail – we will check it before you buy.
Who manufactures the trackers?
We design and manufacture our own trackers in Poland. We also offer devices from other manufacturers, which we modify for customers’ special needs where necessary. We provide warranty and post-warranty service.
Installation
How can the tracker be installed?
The OBD and cigarette-lighter plug versions need no installation. You can connect the simplest kits yourself (power supply), while kits with CAN, a probe, a tachograph or a camera are fitted by a workshop that deals with diagnostics or car alarms.
What are the most important installation rules?
Permanent power “before the ignition switch”, a dry place with no sheet metal above the tracker, the serial-number label facing up, away from heat sources and magnetic fields.
How do I check that the tracker works after installation?
The green modem light flashes briefly every 3 seconds – the GSM network connection is correct. It flashes every second – no network connection. It does not flash – modem failure. After installation, take a short test drive in the open and log in to the system. An installer can also check straight away what data the tracker sends to the server – on the installation check page you only need to enter the device serial number.
Where can I find the manual for my tracker?
Installation manuals for all trackers in PDF format are in the help centre (in Polish).
First steps
How do I log in to the system?
We send the login details (account name, login and password) by e-mail. After logging in you can change the login and password to your own. You open the system from the “Log in” menu on this site.
Do I need to install any software?
No. The system runs in a browser on a computer, tablet and phone. On smartphones you can additionally download the pTrax app (Android, iOS) and pKier for drivers (Android).
Can I check my vehicles on a phone (Android, iPhone)?
Yes. There is a pTrax app for iPhone and Android: vehicle positions, routes driven, routes and stops, and daily mileage. The system also runs in the phone’s browser. Drivers can use the free pKier app (Android).
The tracker is installed but I cannot see a position – what should I do?
The tracker starts sending its position once it detects movement in the open. Take a short test drive outside the garage and refresh the system. If that does not help, call us.
Which browser should I use?
Any up-to-date browser: Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari.
Using the system
How do I share a vehicle’s position with a customer or forwarder?
You can send a link to the route or create a separate user with access only to a selected group of vehicles.
How do I get a notification when a tracker stops sending data?
In the tracker configuration, set a no-data alert – the system will notify you by SMS or e-mail. Missing data may be caused by disconnected power, a damaged GSM antenna or the SIM card.
What does a straight line on the route or a gap in the data mean?
When someone disconnects the power, the tracker does not collect data – a straight line appears on the map between the point where it was switched off and where it was switched on again. When the tracker loses GSM coverage, it keeps saving positions in memory and sends them once the connection is restored – you can see this in the “Wykonano” (performed) and “Zapisano” (saved) columns in the detailed route view.
Why do some reports have a limited date range?
A single vehicle can generate as many as 3,000 records a day. Detailed reports such as “Routes and stops” therefore have a limited range. For longer periods, use summaries such as daily mileage.
How long do you keep the data?
Routes are available in the system for 90 days, and older ones are restored on request. Other data, including summaries and reports, is available for 36 months while the service is active.
Can I calculate or optimise a route without an account in the system?
Yes. We provide two free tools that work without logging in: a route calculator (distance, driving time, arrival time and estimated fuel for a van, a rigid truck or an articulated lorry) and route optimisation (arranging the points to visit into the shortest route). You will find both on the home page in the “Free tools” section and in the “Solutions” menu.
